Air
Mining at Olympic Park can affect the air in several different ways.
- The uranium-bearing ore and the tailings are radioactive, and can produce radon gas, which is also radioactive.
- Mining operations can produce dust, some of which is radioactive.
- Mining operations can produce noise.
- Sulfur dioxide gas is produced during burning of diesel fuel in the electric power plant, and during on-site production of sulfuric acid.
