Air

Henty Mine has minimal impacts on the air. There are minor gaseous emissions from diesel driven vehicles and equipment on the site. However, because of the almost continuously windy nature of the local weather, these gasses are dispersed immediately.

Occasionally, during unusually dry weather, it may become necessary to suppress dust produced by vehicle movements on mine roads. This is achieved by spraying the roads with water from a water truck. Generally however, the climate is so wet that dust is not produced.

A further possible effect of the mine on the air is noise production. However, because the mine is in a remote location surrounded by high mountains, and most of the operation is underground, noise is not a problem.
