Minerals Council of Australia

Framework Development

Enduring Value is the product of a comprehensive program of internal and external stakeholder engagement by the Minerals Council of Australia, engaging approximately 900 individuals and organisations in what is arguably the most comprehensive process of external engagement in the history of the Council.

To ensure that the Implementation Guidance reflected the views of a diverse range of stakeholders, the Minerals Council undertook a two-tiered approach to stakeholder engagement.

The first tier involved independently facilitated workshops that drew together representatives from government, industry, consultants, non-government organisations, community groups and industry related organisations. These workshops were held throughout April and May 2004 in the following communities:

  1. Sydney
  2. Brisbane
  3. Mt Isa
  4. Darwin
  5. Perth
  6. Kalgoorlie
  7. Adelaide
  8. Hobart
  9. Melbourne

The second tier entailed a formal phase of written comments and web-based consultative mechanisms on a redrafted version of the Implementation Guidance that incorporated the feedback received through the series of workshops.
