The 2018 biennial Australia Japan Coal Conference (AJCC18) will be held on Thursday 18 October in Queensland with a welcome reception the previous evening.
This longstanding conference provides a forum for an exchange of views between Australian coal exporters and their major Japanese customers, including power utilities, steel mills and cement manufacturers.
Eligibility to attend the conference is restricted to Australian coal producers and their major Japanese customers. Law and economic consultancy firms, coal industry service providers and Commonwealth and State public servants with an interest in the Australian/Japan coal trade are also entitled to register for the conference.
The conference will commence with a Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening, 17 October. It will provide the perfect opportunity to network and socialise in a relaxed, informal environment.
Conference sessions will take place on 18 October. This will involve a series of keynote presentations and sessions will include: the Australian coal supply and Japanese coal demand outlook; coal minesite research and low emissions coal technology activities; and coal transport infrastructure developments.
