> TAX07: 2007 Taxation Conference

Targeting the specific interests of taxation and other professionals working in the minerals industry, the MCA's Taxation Conference is the only forum of its type held in Australia. TAX07 aims to upgrade the skills of minerals company taxation specialists and related finance, legal and accounting individuals and their professional advisers.


> Aboriginal Enterprises in Mining and Exploration

1 November - 2 November 2007, Cairns Convention Centre, Cairns QLD.

The 3rd annual Aboriginal Enterprises in Mining and Exploration conference will be held on Thursday 1 November and Friday 2 November at the Cairns Convention Centre. The MCA secretariat are working closely with the steering committee for the conference ensuring that strong linkages are made through presentations, and themes. The program will feature professional development workshops to help grow Indigenous enterprises engaged in the mining and minerals processing supply chain on Friday 2 November. The conferences will overlap on Thursday 1 November, and include a joint casual dinner event to welcome delegates to the Aboriginal Enterprises in Mining and Exploration Conference and close the SD conference.


> SD07: Sustainable Development Conference 2007 - A Climate for Change

The MCA's Sustainable Development Conference brings together leaders, experts and practitioners from around the world to exchange ideas, information and practical examples of sustainable development - it is the largest event of its kind for our industry. The comprehensive five-day program explores global, national, and regional issues and solutions.

Minerals Week 2007 is the industry's annual high level public policy dialogue. The signature one day Annual Industry Seminar and Parliamentary Dinner will bring together senior minerals industry personnel, major players in Commonwealth, State and international policy, the Diplomatic Corps and an array of market analysts, economists, consultants, academics, scientists and media.

SD05 demonstrated the depth of the industry's commitment to the principles of sustainable development and the growing experience and expertise in its implementation at the operational level. The Conference also highlighted the opportunities for companies to differentiate their performance with regulators, the community and the market along with the critical role of mutually beneficial relationships.
