MEDIA COVERAGE FROM THE JOGMEC AUSTRALIAN MEDIA VISIT TO JAPAN

The Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation facilitated the visit of three senior Australian journalists to Japan for a week long series of site inspections and briefings focussing on the technological contribution of Japanese industry in lowering emissions from coal fired generation.

Accompanied by MCA Executive Director, Coal – Greg Evans, David Speers (Sky News), Annabel Hepworth (The Australian) and Ben Potter (Australian Financial Review) visited the ultra-supercritical 1200MW Isogo plant regarded as the world’s most efficient and cleanest coal fired plant.  They also inspected the Osaki CoolGen project, a 170MW IGGC demonstration power plant which offers a further step-up in efficiency from ultra-supercritical plants.
