MODEL WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS AND CODES OF PRACTICE

This Submission is made by the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) in conjunction with the:

  • Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia
  • Queensland Resources Council
  • New South Wales Minerals Council
  • South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy
  • Victorian Division of the MCA
  • Tasmanian Minerals Council
  • Northern Territory Division of the MCA (the Representatives)

The Minerals Council of Australia, as the peak national body representing the Australian minerals industry has brought together the views of its members and all State/Territory minerals industry bodies in developing this submission.

This submission therefore represents the national position of the Australian minerals industry - a single and united position of industry across the nation.

This submission makes comment on the exposure draft of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations 2010 and the priority Codes of Practice. Responses to questions raised in the Issues Paper are incorporated in the body of comment on the Regulations and Codes.

The Representatives may also make submissions directly on the impacts of the Model Regulations and Codes of Practice.

Further submissions on Chapter 9: Mines will be made when public comments are sought.
