A NEW CARBON PRICING SCHEME

An integrated policy approach is necessary. An Australian carbon pricing scheme will be effective only as part of an integrated policy approach which includes: a global agreement that includes concerted and comparable action by all major emitters; a measured transition to carbon pricing, with cost burdens comparable with those facing our competitors, and the development and deployment of low emissions technologies.

RECRUITMENT COMMENCES FOR MINING INDUSTRY ADULT APPRENTICES

The company is seeking adult apprentices as electrical fitter mechanic and diesel fitter. The apprenticeships will be undertaken over an 18 month period at the company?s Queensland mine sites. Candidates will require at least 40 per cent of the trade which will be assessed through a rigorous recognition of prior learning process.
