The guiding objective of the Northern Territory revenue review should be to increase the Territory’s growth through a more competitive tax system.  The Government needs to focus on improving the attractiveness of mining investment to better capitalise on the Northern Territory’s natural advantages.

Submission to NT Government Review of its Disclosure Policy for Mining Security Bonds

The MCA NT considers disclosure of security bonds held for individual mining operations within the NT would pose a significant risk to the competitive standing of the Territory’s minerals sector and is unlikely to lead to improved community confidence in regulation.

Submission to the ESCOSA Review of Guidelines for the Access Regime for the Tarcoola-Darwin Railway

The MCA NT’s feedback on behalf of member companies seeks to ensure the access regime does not comprise a disincentive for future investment in and sustainable development of the minerals sector in the Northern Territory.
