MCA Response Mineral Titles Act

Comments provided in this submission should be read in con`|unction with our earlier submission of 15 April 2011 and the accompanying Minerals Council of Australia?s (MCA) Exploration Policy submission to the Australian Government?s Policy Transition Group in November 2010, which outlined that exploration is critical to the growth, vitality and diversity of the Australian minerals industry.

Submission - Draft Mineral Titles Regulations

The proposed changes incorporate a reduction in the maximum area size of exploration licence applications from 500 blocks to 250 blocks. The impacts will be a reduction on the foothold on land by explorers and an increase the fees and charges.

Proposed Amendments to the Mining Management Act

This letter is in response to proposed changes to the Mining Management Act (the ?MMA? or ?the Act?) which provides the legislative framework for regulating mining activities in the Northern Territory. Given the limited time available to comment on the proposed amendments, this response is based on the summary of proposed changes and it is expected that further opportunity for detailed input will be invited from the Minerals Council of Australia as part of the government?s consultation process.
