AUSTRALIAN URANIUM ASSOCIATION TO BE INTEGRATED INTO MINERALS COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA

National mining industry advocacy is to be further strengthened through the integration of the Australian Uranium Association (AUA) and the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA). The decision to integrate the two organisations has been taken by member companies of both organisations.

Today’s signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on project approvals between the Commonwealth and New South Wales Governments adds to the momentum towards a nationally consistent and streamlined process for approving job and wealth-generating projects without diminishing environmental standards.

MCA, BHP BILLITON AND DOWNER EDI MINING ANNOUNCE COMPANY DIRECTOR’S COURSE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

The Minerals Council of Australia has awarded four scholarships to women for board studies, in conjunction with member companies BHP Billiton and Downer EDI Mining. The scholarships have been awarded to women working in the mining industry to enable them to complete the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors’ Course during 2014. The scholarship program follows the success of last year’s program which saw three women complete the Company Directors’ Course in 2013.

Austmine-MCA MOU Strengthens Mining’s Sustainability

Austmine and the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) have signed a MOU to strengthen the relationship between the Mining Equipment, Technology and Service (METS) sector and Australia’s major mining companies. The MOU was singed at the Melbourne Celebrates Mining industry dinner on Thursday, 30 October 2013, by Austmine Chairman, Alan J. Broome AM and Senior Vice Chair and Managing Director, Australia, Rio Tinto, David Peever.
