Australia has a strong record on reducing emissions… For the past 25 years, Australia has outperformed most developed and major developing nations in constraining the growth of CO2 emissions. Moreover, Australia’s commitment to a 26-28 per cent reduction of CO2 emissions on 2005 levels represents one of the largest reductions in per capita emissions among G-20 nations. In absolute terms, it is comparable to a range of other countries including Japan, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
