Through the Awards the Minerals Council seeks to acclerate the improvement of the industry's safety and health performance by highlighting 'Best Practice'. To promote this, the Council has produced serveral case studies of previous winners and other recognised minerals sites in the MINEX Award.
All case studies examine, in considerable detail, the vision, objective, strategies, procedures and proceses in place at the minerals site concerned - all considered against the Awards Critiera.
The Council encourages applicants for the MINEX Awards to examine the case studies and use them as a guide for preparing their own application.
This is a case study of AngloGold Ashanti Australia - Sunrise Dam, recipients of the 2004 MINEX Award and trophy.
This is a sample MINEX applicant submission, courtesy of Alcoa World Alumina Australia - WA Mining, recipients of the 2003 MINEX Award and trophy. The submission is formatted using the requisite IADRI model, uses dot points to convey the message, contains a minimum of duplication and comprises less than 50 pages. This sample submission will be useful to potential applicants in preparation for writing their submission, as well as to potential evaluators who will be able to see the sort of document they will be asked to assess.
