Safety & Health
In 1999 the Minerals Council of Australia launched an initiative to specifically recognise and promote safety and health innovation. The National Safety and Health Innovation Awards are designed to foster the development of innovative solutions to everyday safety and health issues. Based on the innovation awards run by the State and Territory Minerals Councils and Chambers, the national competition selects its winners from the State award recipients.
The Innovations Profiles booklets briefly describe each of the national finalists in order to promote such innovations as broadly as possible throughout the Australian minerals industry and to encourage similar searches for solutions to safety problems. Each profile provides a description of the innovation, its benefits and practical application as well as information on how it might be applicable to other sectors and industries.
