Recognising leadership, advocacy and achievement by women in Victorian mining

MCA Victoria has recognised the exceptional career achievements, leadership, and contribution to the community of women in Victoria’s resources sector with the 2021 Women in Resources Awards.

Four award winners were selected from a quality field based on experience, contribution to social licence, skill and passion for the industry.

Winners cover a diverse range of opportunities in mining from trades roles to human resources, safety and environmental and social governance.

All winners live in regional Victoria, providing strong role models and inspiration for women in Victoria interested in a career in the mining sector.

The winners are:

  • Exceptional Woman in Victorian Resources: Laura Chibnall, Principal Environmental and Social Consultant – Ensolve
  • Exceptional Young Woman in Victorian Resources: Yan Lim, Health Safety Environment and Community Advisor – Stawell Gold Mines
  • Outstanding Trade Operator or Technician: Elisabeth Viklund, Underground Operator – Mandalay Resources Costerfield Operations
  • Gender Diversity Champion: Nikki Hartrey, Human Resources Manager – Kirkland Lake Gold, Fosterville Gold Mine.
